[advocacy-discuss] public IRC channels?

This reminds me of something I've been meaning to ask for some time..

In the following forwarded post, it appears as though Mike is
referring to an internal IRC channel (#onv-scm). Are there plans to
open those (irc channels) up? I know about the existing #opensolaris
on freenode, but that is largely user/admin biased. I've often wished
there were developer-oriented IRC channels for the projects or groups
I'm involved in, and I know it's been bemoaned before about the amount
of communication that occurs behind the firewall. If this is
documented somewhere, I apologize for not finding it.

I've forwarded the following email only as a reference for the
apparent IRC channel mentioned therein.

Mark

Rich mentioned on #onnv-scm that he still has some concerns about the
description for CODEMGR_WS. So how about

CODEMGR_WS
The root of your workspace, including whatever metadata is kept by
   the source code management system.
