Thanks for that, it's sort of what I imagined though I would just have 
two egg halves to simplify the imagery. Anyway, after looking at your 
concept I have had a few thoughts,

1. The old Matron Dragon (Solaris) lays the egg and fies off into the 
sun  (Old Solaris (sun) symbol which then goes dull)
2. The baby (scale) hatches (Birth of OpenSolaris - Child of Solaris)
3. Baby scale, takes off toward a dull sun
4. Baby Scale torches the dull sun which lights up and becomes the new 
Solaris (rising sun) symbol
or
3. Baby scale sees a linux penguin and torches it.
4. Penguin bursts into flames (New solaris symbol)
.
Just think in 2018 we can do a teen dragon, how cool would that be.


It's just a pity I can't draw.....
