Perhaps coming up with a mascot and/or logo is something that should
be fielded as a contest and let the graphic designers amongst us work
their magic. This isn't something that needs a full-fledged spec
beforehand. In other words, it's easy for us to fall for the tech
geek instinct of prescribing parameters for an envisioned end result.
Logos and mascots, I argue, need to be treated differently.
Announce a contest, see what's offered, and let the Community vote.
It should be kept as simple and straightforward as that.
