Does it *have* to be a character? It seems everybody is hung up on 
having a cuddly (for some value of cuddly) character just like "the 
other guys". I think we shouldn't blindly follow their path, but instead 
follow our own, where ever that may lead...

Yes, I think we could do with a nice logo, only it shouldn't have to be 
an animal "just because".
