Sounds fair.

Initially, I thought the nearest would be HOSUG (400+KM.) A second look
suggsted that it would be NITW-SUG, about 200KM away.

Sounds good.

That should be practical. The next project term for the students would be
from Dec-June, but we are doing some acclimatization of students to Open
Solaris starting now. Right now, the planned activities (next 1-2 months)
are:
- Lab systems installed with Open Solaris (Build 65 or later)
- Make students familiar with Open Solaris site, processes and code.
- Look at bite size bugs and documentation changes.
- Get to a project and operational user group mode.
This is my guess, but the student community who take a Operating Systems
paper would be 800+ in this college. There are 15+ colleges in this area
that offer this kind of a course.
I am a visiting faculty at this college and visit this place at least once a
quarter. I am going to be the mentor for the UG during the initial days.
Oh, you may also want to mention that you need/want a mail list and

Yes. I will make sure that the next revision of the proposal contains this
information.

I have no intentions to rush the process. I have a scheduled trip to this
place on Saturday (Friday evening US pacific.) On that day, we are going to
talk about either DTrace or Solaris Containers. We also want to see if this
can be the launch of the User Group. This is just a window of opportunity.
If the decision of Advocacy group comes later, we can target another day for
the launch. Absolutely no issues.
I will wait for another 24 hours and incorporate all the feedback to the
next revision of the proposal, including Jim's. Meanwhile, please keep
sending suggestions.
