[advocacy-discuss] Request to alter website homepage content

This is a proposal for the core contributors of the Advocacy Community,
In lieu of the debate that has arisen over the wording on the homepage
promoting the Indiana Developer Preview binary release, I'd like to
propose changing the wording on the homepage to reflect the fact that
Indiana has not yet officially been called OpenSolaris.
I think backing it out entirely is unfair to the Indiana project team,
since posting front page news about notable achievements and
accomplishments in the OpenSolaris community is fine and reasonable and
well within the scope (and precedent) of the homepage.
My proposed changes are:
a) Change the "opensolaris" orange and blue wordmark behind the
Developer Preview text to be "Indiana"
b) Change the wording of the bullet points to be:
The OpenSolaris project is an open development effort that consists of
three key elements:
(1) the OpenSolaris source code,
(2) the OpenSolaris community,
(3) OpenSolaris binary distributions
c) Change the first sentence paragraph to:
"The Indiana Developer Preview is the first milestone of Project Indiana."
d) change the first link to be "Get the Indiana Developer Preview"
This will go a long way to defusing the current situation, and would
pre-emptively settle one of the resolution points in the current
draft[1] of the OGB policy we will be voting on on Wednesday.
Comments welcome.
cheers,
steve
