I thought we agreed a while ago not to torture newcomers by suggesting
they subscribe to opensolaris-discuss at opensolaris.org - it will drive
more away than bring in.

You might want to note that your instructions only cover the ON (aka OS/net)
consolidation, and not any of the other consolidations that make up
OpenSolaris (Storage, Install, Desktop, X, etc.), which have different
procedures for downloading & building that are documented in their
communities.
