[advocacy-discuss] how these mailing lists work

I've been subscribing to the lists with mailman, on pages like this:

  http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/nfs-discuss

I posted a couple silly things to drivers-discuss with no problems,
and to here (if you're reading this), but when I post to nfs-discuss,
nothing happens. I don't get a copy of my message. I don't get a
bounce, nor a mailman awaiting-moderator-approval message. I don't
see my post appear in the mailman archives.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Does anyone know why it's happening? Are there different kinds of
lists with different posting policies? If so, is there a central
place to learn the names of the lists and the posting policy of each?
