Hi All,

  This is Satyajeet Singh, Sun Campus Ambassador - NSIT, India and I wish to
open an OpenSolaris User Group at my college. Kindly have a look.

Proposal for NSIT OpenSolaris User Group Project (NSIT-OSUG)

Purpose:
To drive awareness and adoption of OpenSolaris and related technologies
among students and faculty of Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, New
Delhi.

Project Description:
The primary purpose of this project is to drive awareness and adoption of
OpenSolaris primarily among students and faculty of NSIT. The user group
will provide a strong platform for free exchange of ideas and experience.
One of our goals will be to educate users through presentations, community
and our members. We hope that people in large number will be interested in
learning more about OpenSolaris and related technologies. We would like to
contribute projects, presentations, documentation, code, and other material
to this project space on the OpenSolaris site.
We will organize meetings, conduct tech demos and presentations on topics
about OpenSolaris to encourage fellow students, researchers and faculty to
join and contribute to this user group. The user group would also
collaborate and work together with other nearby Open Solaris User Groups in
the nearby region.

Project Needs:
This project requires project space on OpenSolaris.org site. The project
also requires a mailing list. Suggested list name is ug-nsitosug at
opensolaris dot org.

Related Projects:
This user group will monitor activities of successful user groups and would
like to inherit the way to become one of them.
The group would also monitor the activities of nearby OSUGs, as well as the
user groups of other Campus Ambassadors in the region in order to seek out
opportunities for collaborative OpenSolaris promotion.

Proposed Activities:
The group will plan to initiate workshops and user group meetings on campus
with a focus on promoting the competitive advantages of OpenSolaris for
research, development and teaching. We will conduct workshops, tech
demos/talks, and other promotional activities as guided by the Sun Campus
Ambassador Program.
Future activities will include presentations and workshops on topics
including:
* Introduction to Dtrace and ZFS
* OpenSolaris Installation
* OpenSolaris - Features Overview

Kindly advice changes, suggestions, etc. to the above proposal.
