*Project Description** :* The purpose of this project is to drive
OpenSolaris awareness amongst student and professional community in JU. The
target audience will mostly be students. I and in future other members of
this group want to increase OpenSolaris adoption in labs and student
projects. I and in future other members of this group want the help of the
college alumni in the industry to guide us in these efforts. The group will
plan to initiate workshops and user group meetings on campus with a focus on
promoting the competitive advantages of OpenSolaris for research,
development and teaching.

The project will also archive its contributions like student projects,
presentations, and other material to the project space on the OpenSolaris
site.

*Project Needs:* This project requires project space on
OpenSolaris.orgsite. The project also requires a mailing list.

Suggested list name is* "ju-osug at opensolaris dot org"* .

*Related Projects:* I and in future other members of this group would like
to closely watch the successful user groups and see if we can work with them
to do related activities .

The request for this user group is principally to complete the prerequisite
steps to start my work as CA in JU Kolkata, India as guided in the Sun
Campus Ambassador handbook.

Eagerly waiting for approval from user group administrators and instructions
for taking further steps in this regard.
