I think it is a waste to even talk about him and his reactions.

He always has been a caustic person trashing anything which comes near him
or is not related with Linux: QNX, Solaris, BSD. 
Thats his style and thats how he attracts attention around him.

Regarding his attitude about new or other technologies: I wouldn't be that
confident that he is that open minded in seeing anything except his own 
work as the most important thing. As a leader of a community he is 
creating the same attitude towards every member, making a pain sometimes
to have a normal chat with any Linux developer or maintainer from outside.
