I was opposed in the past to that, because mailman was doing a poor job
of email stripping the archives. It basically made it impractical for
public use. Has this changed?

Beside that, I won't mind having it used, but I'll still advertise only
the Jive interface. For all its flaws, it looks modern, and has more
appeal to a younger audience used to web forums. And it works well enough.
