After reading a few things on the site about it I didn't think I would have as much trouble as I did with Ubuntu (oops). I installed the Solaris without any problems and I get the destop on the monitor with the control panel. My QUESTION is where can I find the information to go from there? I don't have any drives installed that I can see the only thing after log in is the screen and panel. At least with Ubuntu it loaded the drives so I had internet and everything else. I can't seem to find anything, anywhere about setting it up after install. Can someone point me in the right direction please.

The trouble your running into now is exactly why OpenSolaris (the
installable distribution, 2008.05) exists. With improved installers,
network auto-configuration (called "NWAM", NetWork AutoMagic), a greatly
improved desktop (GNOME) plus a variety of desktop configuration GUIs
that actually work, plus a full modern packaging system (IPS, the Image
Packaging System) with GUI interface to boot.
Other distributions, such as Nexenta, Belenix, and others also do this.
Solaris 10 and prior were excellent OS's, but the initial barrier to
entry was very high, as your finding now.
You can hit docs.sun.com to read the Solaris 10 manuals, use Google to
find answers to specific questions answered in blogs and forums, but
honestly I recommend just downloading OpenSolaris 2008.05
(www.opensolaris.com) and re-installing that.
That said, we're always interested in lists of questions from new users
that can help us better refine documentation and help material.
