Hi,

I found the link " Application Packaging Developer's Guide

http://www.opensolaris.com/learn/ leads to a book about making a package 
for old packaging system, not IPS. There is another instruction on IPS 
at 
http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/sw-porters/port-indiana/indiana-ips/

Do you think we may update Learn section at opensolaris.com? Or at least 
provide both links - for more "theoretical" package building book, and 
more "practical" one.
