I always assumed it was more to do with who owned the IP range...
before we switched to direct internet access (DIA) here in the Dublin
office, our proxies were physically located in the UK, but my hits
still showed up as coming from the US.
Now that we're DIA, I can access content on the BBC websites that's
"UK-only"[1], but my hits still show up as coming from the US... so
basically I'm just confused :)
