Totally agree. This takes time, too.

Well, on our current site, anyway, it's only a temporary solution. I
want very much for the current portals to go away when we have the
ability to localized the /entire/ site.

That's true. I think this remains a huge opportunity for community
building in the future.

Yes, they are basically hacked project spaces with a tiny amount of
content. A very awkward solution, admittedly, but at least we started
somewhere. :) The real purpose was only to start the process of building
some language communities around site content. We knew full well that
the site was limited in this area. Thankfully, those days are rapidly
coming to an end. :)
