SXCE will slowly morph into OpenSolaris OS updates ie. the thing you
saw this weekend. The 2 week build schedule will continue, with
updates being pushed to pkg.opensolaris.org if you are on the
'unstable' branch. Every 6 months, the unstable branch will morph into
a stable product to be released to the world eg. OpenSolaris 2008.11.

The names SXDE and SXCE will go away over time. The only reason for
SXCE being around as a separate train is because you can't yet
bootstrap an ON build on OpenSolaris OS (though I have heard people
confirming this is now possible with a few workarounds).
