Hello Advocacy Community,
I would like to submit the following project proposal to the Advocacy
Community.

Proposal for OpenSolaris Project: Newbies on OpenSolaris

*Description: * -- How can we bring new users to OpenSolaris, without
teach the bases of Unix/Solaris (day by day utilization)? These information
are spread over the internet, sometimes in a very technical language, so we
would like to make a centralized point to users (in English and Portuguese)
using easier expressions.
*Location:* Sao Paulo, Brazil
*List of Community Groups Sponsoring the project: *
Advocacy Community Group
*List of initial project team members:*
- Thiago Pereira (Program Coordinator), primary contact - IT Operations,
Sun Microsystems - OpenSolaris ID: tap
- Valdinei Barbosa - Second contact - OpenSolaris ID: vbarbosa
**The project will archive its contributions, presentations, and other
material to the project space on the OpenSolaris site.
*Project Needs:* This project requires project space on OpenSolaris.org
site. The project also requires a mailing list. Suggested list name is
opensolaris-newbies
at opensolaris dot org<opensolaris-champions%20at%20opensolaris%20dot%20org>.
*Proposed activities:*
- This group has the intention to make basic utilization tutorials about the
system, like "How I install Flash Player?", "How I update my JRE?", or even
"What is the command to change the ownership of one folder?" (day by day
utilization);
- Make basic step by step in English and Portuguese;
- Be in touch with another Brazilian communities;
- Help Brazilians OpenSolaris ambassadors with their communities,
conferences,...
