Im adding only a few points, I approve the other remarks.

I don't like that idea - and yet, do we really have a choice? OS.c
already has started taking some activity out of OS.o with its web-only
forums. And saying loud that it is *the* OpenSolaris user community.

OpenSolaris.org is only quickly pointed to as a developer community. So,
if it stays like that, I don't believe that much traffic will end up on
OS.o.

It would look funny if user groups are not part of what is the
self-proclaimed OpenSolaris user community. I guess that «OpenSolaris»
on OS.c means «OpenSolaris 2008.05» while the same word on OS.o means
«the OpenSolaris project».
As I was saying yesterday in a Sun France event: people outside Sun
really have a lot of trouble with that confusion, even some inside Sun,
actually.

Can we avoid making things even more awkward than what they are now?

I would rather have that option.

I agree with your proposal.
In the long run, the relationship to OS.c should be established
properly. I don't see how it's going to evolve right now.
