The London Olympics 2012 logo may be ugly, but it's an excellent logo. 
Aesthetic pleasure is not a critical success factor for a logo: creating 
an experience is.

The logo is high energy, highly suggestive of an unorthodox and 
innovative approach, is highly customisable and can be rendered 
recognisably in a variety of contexts (e.g. mobile web).

It will brand London 2012 well.  We should be lucky to do so well with 
our logo.
