I broadly agree, yes. I actually hear that sentiment often. I have to
keep reminding myself that it's important to be positive, even when
people are choosing to react negatively.

I agree. In particular, we have to deal with a community with a vast
number of registered users of whom a tiny proportion are participants
in the community. We also have a situation where the vast majority of
the people actually working on the code from day to day are silent in
the community. It seems to me that the sort of dual focus Glynn
suggests has promise as a vehicle for addressing this. I'd suggest we
evolve the good parts and positively correct the bad parts of what he
is proposing.
