Agreed, well said as usual, Ceri. We are still learning here about how
'sudden announcements' play in a self-governing, but heavily
corporate-sponsored open source project such as ours. Sorta like an
easter egg :) Thanks for your continued effort to provide constructive
and complete feedback as we grow up, I appreciate your time to do so.
And I appreciate your perspective from other projects that clearly plan
ahead, we do struggle with this.

A contest would be fun and we will have need for new graphics for the
front page in June for our third anniversary. Let's start that up right
now to give ourselves a couple of months to get creative. Here is the
info for the past several years of anniversary graphics contests:
http://opensolaris.org/os/community/advocacy/homepagegraphics/

We need helpers for the following to get going:

-It specifies the orange and blue colors, so if Dan and Glynn could
provide new specifics on colors as soon as possible, that would be useful.
-If someone with edit privileges could update the top of the
homepagegraphics page with a few words and change the left nav bar link
to Graphics 2008 that would get us off to a good start.
-We'll also need an owner to post the graphics that are submitted via
this mailing list.
-I'll volunteer to bring this to the editorial review board via the
website discuss list, so they can provide us any new committee process
steps, if needed.

Thanks,
Michelle
