So, on your systems, make the default path be whatever you want.
It is *easy* to change. In fact, push a pkg out to the new repo
that sanitizes (for your definition of sanitize) OpenSolaris's
default choices so that everyone can reuse it if they so desire.
It won't affect me in any case, since my .profile starts with
PATH=/usr/bin...
instead of
PATH=$PATH:...
This change in defaults probably won't affect you either. The
only people it might affect are the users who get new accounts
created AND don't bother changing things.
Getting upset because of *other* people's lifestyle choices seems
to be a good way to get ulcers and vote Republican :-)
