What other relevant UNIX operating systems still exist out there?

Or, in other words, where is the value in forcing new OpenSolaris
users to learn 1984 technology when they already know 2008 stuff
from Linux?

In case you haven't noticed, the customer base of people who are not
also using Linux and MacOSx in their daily jobs is quickly approaching
zero. Since they already know MacOSx and Linux, making OpenSolaris
familiar to them is a very big plus when it comes time to grow the
customer base :-)

So, tell me honestly, would you be happy with SunOS 4.1.2 on your
blade servers? Without any of that crappy newfangled Linux stuff
like web servers, scripting languages, GUI desktop environments, ...?

Would your customers and employers be happy?
