*This* set of OpenSolaris "releases" (preview 1, preview 2,
pre^H^H^HOpenSolaris2008.05...) are *NOT* the 'droid you are
looking for. They are specifically targeted at bootstrapping
a new way of doing things. The bootstrap work is obviously not
yet completed.

Don't get confused by the fact that you suddenly are seeing
all the gory details of how we make sausage - it will look
better (and still taste great) once it is wrapped up and shipped
to the supermarket :-)

For now, to you as an enterprise user who requires long term support,
SPARC support, etc etc etc, all this OpenSolaris stuff should be
considered to be a view into the internal development details of a
future long term supported enterprise quality operating system.

A future one. It isn't there today. That's what Solaris10 is for.

Hmm, lets see. 2.5.1 is what, 14 or 15 years old? Many customers
are just now upgrading from 2.6,2.7 and Solaris8 to Solaris10. It
will probably be several years before they are ready to consider a
replacement for Solaris 10 - and by that time, OpenSolaris LTS will
be ready for them.
