Would an installer option that favors "classic" rather than "new"  
developers slake your concerns? AFAIK no one has suggested removing  
the "classic" functionality ... it's a question of what appears by  
default only.

Given that any "classic" developer almost certainly has  
elaborate .profile and .kshrc (or .cshrc or .*rc ;>) files that they  
will copy over, would such an option going to make any difference?
