actually this is a nice theory but not practical - I can not use any other WM on Solaris/Opensolaris yet because there is no other available in a package format apart from soon going away (or not even there in Opensolaris) CDE and TWM. and dont tell me to download, compile
I dont care about such stuff on a desktop, on a desktop I'm not going to compile windowmanagers unless I'm really, really bored - all I care is what comes with _it_ and what I can select or install via a package - which if I dont like that WM I can easily get rid of.
in essence on Opensolaris there is GNOME and......GNOME....
