I haven't had a serious problem with projectors since the 2005, and I've 
done a fair amount of talks since then. I have a three year old Sony 
Vaio TX750P, and it seems ok in most circumstances. The only issue I 
have is when I leave the laptop alone plugged into the projector long 
enough for the screen saver to kick in and it takes a long time to get 
back (up to five minutes). Since I am generally incapable of fixing this 
in front of an audience, I never let it happen anymore. :) Anyone else 
have that issue? Other than that, I just plug in the projector and boot 
and it works.
