I'm not aware of any lists of people in the community who are available
for conferences. Sounds like an excellent database for someone to create
and maintain -- especially for user groups to share contacts and
experiences around the world, but also for general advocacy issues. When
people ask how to find speakers, I think it's best to ping the
appropriate technology lists and see who's interested. Or put out a call
for papers, etc. That's time consuming, but that's how to start. But
building a database that people can volunteer for would be cool. I'm
sure many people would like to be a part of that. I'm not aware of any
speaker databases internally at Sun, either ....
