Today we formed the Tokyo OpenSolaris User Group, and we respectfully
request an Advocacy Core Contributor +1 vote for a project space and a
mailing list on opensolairs.org to support this new effort.

 Leaders:

    * Jim Grisanzio (jimgris)
    * Pietro Zuco (zuco)
    * Hisayoshi Kato (katohisa)
    * Shoji Haraguchi (hara)

Purpose & Background

To build a multi-lingual, international OpenSolaris community in Tokyo
-- one of largest cities on the planet. There is a thriving
international community in Tokyo with connections to a variety of open
source projects here and around the world. We'll hang out with those
guys and build using them as a model. Also, we'll connect with the
various Japanese open source communities in Tokyo and especially with
the Japan OpenSolaris User Group, which was initiated two years ago and
has grown into several hundred Japanese members. We'll meet for casual
nomi's in small bars buried deep in the heart of Tokyo, we'll do
community-building and technical presentations at open source
conferences in the area, and we'll present at our own meetings as well.
Everyone is welcome. The more languages and diversity in culture and
skills the better. Users. Coders. Newbies. Oldies. Everyone. Also, we'll
raise some cash along the way and create the absolutely coolest
international OpenSolaris t-shirt in the world. Should be fun. That's it.

Best,

Jim/Pietro/Hisayoshi/Shoji
