Hi guys,

just wanted to let you know about some recent activities in my region.

1. We delivered a 5-hour training on OpenSolaris at the Masaryk
university in Brno, Czech republic. It was a small class of 12 students,
because it was a hands-on training. The materials are still a bit work
in progress but if anyone's looking for some inspiration for
computer-based OpenSolaris training, look at this wiki page:

2. I also delivered 2 presentations at Unixalia conference in Warsaw.
The turnout was about 90 people and they got quite excited about
OpenSolaris :) They might start a second Polish user group here in
Warsaw - I'll work with them to help them set it up.

My sessions including demo scripts are available, too:

The first talk was very well received. 90% of the audience were Linux
users and they all grabbed the OpenSolaris CDs and had tons of
questions. I still have to work on the second presentation - it needs
better demos. Again, these materials can help you if you want to run
sessions about OpenSolaris. Note that these materials are focused on new
users (both sysadmins and developers), which is why I promote 2008.05 -
if you need something for existing Solaris people you may want to talk
more about the Solaris distribution or SXCE.

Damian Wojslaw from Polish JUG in Gdansk is looking for a keynote
speaker for his conference in October, so if you have any ideas who
could come let me know.

Cheers,

-Roman
