[advocacy-discuss] OpenSolaris vs. Linux?

Hi everyone,

I am currently working on a document for the upcoming OpenSolaris 11/08 release that is supposed to help people migrate from Linux to OpenSolaris as well as to outline the differences between the two. Has anyone here gone through the migration process who would like to share their experiences? Besides the major differences like ZFS and Zones, I am curious about the minor everyday differences. Because they both operate in the Gnome environment, the everyday user might expect OpenSolaris and Linux to function similarly for day-to-day use. In what cases have you found that they are different, and how difficult was it to get used to? I have looked around on google a little, but if you know of any other reliable resources on linux/OpenSolaris migration, I'd love to see them.
