Hey, guys.
Some of us have been hanging out with the Tokyo Linux User Group (TLUG)
for a while now, but last Saturday we held a TLUG meeting at Sun for the
first time:
http://blogs.sun.com/jimgris/entry/tokyo_linux_user_group_091308. This
is a pretty big deal for us. And, by offering resources like this, it's
an excellent way for the company to contribute to the community in
Tokyo. I'm sure we'll do it again in the future. But most importantly,
it's really great to see OpenSolaris guys mix so easily with Linux and
BSD and other international communities that are part of TLUG.
OpenSolaris is the new guy in town, so we are trying to reach out to the
other more established communities to make friends in Tokyo and around
the world. Some of the communities here have extensive networks in
Europe and the United States, so we figure that's a good direction that
OpenSolaris can take in Tokyo as well. TLUG meets once a month, so if
anyone comes to Tokyo let me know and we can stop by for a beer.
Jim
