Even though this group creation has just been proposed, I saw how the user group was born in 2007.  I met some the initial founders during a conference I gave in Huancayo (Peru): http://www.alobbs.com/album/comsys07 . I have been in contact with them since that moment, and I'm aware of the fine work they've done in the area so far.

+1 for the Peruvian OpenSolaris User Group! :-)
