Hello,

A few of us at the University of Delaware would like to start an
OpenSolaris user group for Delaware to discuss, advocate and increase
awareness of OpenSolaris at UDel (to students, staff and faculty) and
nearby corporations. The group would be open to anyone in Delaware
and surrounding states interested in (Open)Solaris or open source
  software in general.

Name
  Delaware OpenSolaris User Group (DE-OSUG)

Initial participants
  Ben Miller - bmiller
  Mike Davis - davismik
  Andrew Chester - achester
  Rodney McGee - tymcgee

Description
Our initial goals would be (Open)Solaris advocacy and awareness to
students, staff and possibly faculty at UDel and to spread to nearby
corporations. We would also have a working relationship with the
campus Linux User Group. In the recent past we have hosted some Sun
sponsored events (Spring 2007, Fall 2007, Spring 2008) that have
covered topics such as ZFS, virtualization, dtrace and (Open)Solaris
in general. We would like to pick up in continuing to host such
events, as well as, have our own (monthly) meetings and other
events. We would like to try to get Jeff Bonwick to an event at his
  alma mater.

Ben
