Historically, Solaris has been used in many secure environments. I've
been working in one of those. With no network access and restrictions on
the media you can use there, yes, it becomes a pain. It's simply
impossible to install a repository in each secure network: the cost
would be too high.
I know it's a particular case, and maybe Sun doesn't care about those
customers anymore (their salespeople sure didn't look like they cared
much...). But its' a case where IPS, right now, fails.

Well, actually, I don't really think it matters that much. The success,
or not, of IPS, isn't the same as the success or not of OpenSolaris.com,
or the OpenSolaris distributions. That something I disagree with Ben :-)
