[advocacy-discuss] Reinstate Core Contributor Status?

What I tried to seek is Contributor status. I do not want to
go to the upper levels. As a contributor I think I could get
more access to computing (and other) resources. My intention
is not to manage OpenSolaris Project but rather to contribute
code, documentation, etc. I feel that anything upper than
Contributor means more involvement in managing all OpenSolaris
project. Once I finish my first stage in my life which is to
prove as a high quality engineer, maybe I'll get MBA ant enter into
Management area. But it is far future.

I'm a Leader in Serbia only because we are at the early stage
of organisation. My profession is wireless telecommunications,
and design software (it is possible to have two majors here).
I think that these days everything moves from hardware to software
and instead of designing new piece of hardware we could just
write new kernel module for embedded (OpenSolars?) OS.

I hope, I clarified my intentions.

Regards,
Uros

Hello, Uros ...

You are coming in on Scott`s Core Contributor renewal thread, so I need to
clarify: Are you seeking Contributor status (as you state above and earlier
in this thread) or are you seeking Core Contributor status? And, yes, you
have to accept, but you also have to be nominated to be a Contributor or a
Core Contributor. Here are the processes that Advocacy agreed to:
http://opensolaris.org/os/community/advocacy/

    * Contributor: To earn Contributor status you need to be nominated
by a Contributor or Core Contributor. You also need a total of two
+1 votes and no -1 votes. Only Core Contributors can vote, and
voting is open on advocacy-discuss for five days. The initial
nomination is considered a +1 vote. After the voting, the new
Contributor must respond to the thread and accept his or her grant.

    * Core Contributor: To earn Core Contributor status, which means you
have voting privileges, you need to be nominated by a Core
Contributor. You also need a total of three +1 votes with no -1
votes. Only Core Contributors can vote, and voting is open on
advocacy-discuss for five days. The initial nomination is
considered a +1 vote. After the voting, the new Core Contributors
must respond to the thread and accept their grant and they must
also acknowledge the OGB's Policy on Core Contributor Grants.
