Screencasts work very well.... the problem is doing them live.  Reading
terminal output on a projector is difficult unless you blow it up so
large that you can't put much on the screen.  Conversely, just talking
with a slide deck makes for a boring screencast but works well live.

The focus, pace, and audience differ greatly between the two mediums and
thus I consider them complementary but unique.
