I am looking for people interested in taking over and driving forward
the OpenSolaris mentoring project.
The goals of the project are to pair Senior developers and sysadmins
with junior developers and sysadmins to learn various aspects of OS
development and administration. This is to done via outreach to
university compsci programs. (this doesn't exclude non-students as
mentees) See following for more details:
http://opensolaris.org/os/project/mentoring/
While I think it is a valuable project, I am willing to see others
step in to drive this. (Without going into to many details, the
direction OpenSolaris has been going in has changed since I initially
got involved in the community, and I proposed this project. It would
probably be best if someone who's heart was really in it, took this
over.)
(My involvement recently in "OpenSolaris" has been limited to my
commitment to integrate and maintain VIM and GVIM packages, and
helping out with the New York OpenSolaris UG.)
Cheers,
-Brian
