It's probably because it's just a pass through cost from the shipping 
carrier.  I imagine they would have to switch this to a shipping agent 
or other method which uses USPS in order for it to become reasonable.

I'd recommend pinging some of the Mozilla team on how they are getting 
their cups and various things made.  I can pass a couple marketing 
contacts for their team if anyone from sunwear folks are interested to 
inquire.  (Or I ask ask direct and relay)
