From peter.tribble at gmail.com Mon Aug 17 14:38:28 2009 From: peter.tribble at gmail.com (Peter Tribble) Date: Mon, 17 Aug 2009 22:38:28 +0100 Subject: [approach-discuss] Status of the Approachability Community Message-ID: [The OGB understands that the leaders of the Approachability Community wish to see the community terminate, but this is the same message we're sending to all such affected communities, so we follow the same process throughout.] The Approachability community has less than the required minimum of 3 Core Contributors to govern its affairs and, according to the OpenSolaris constitution, should be terminated. The OpenSolaris Governing Board can deal with the situation by: A) Terminating the community B) Designating at least 3 new Core Contributors in order to revitalize the community, or C) Merge this community with another (possibly as a project). If community members step up and make a good case for options B or C within the next 30 days (either by guiding the OGB as to who the new Core Contributors should be, or by advising the OGB what nature of merger would be in the best interests of the affected community) then the OGB will work with the community to take that option forward. Otherwise, the OGB will ask the website community to terminate the community group, following the procedure set forth here: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/web/infrastructure-setup/ Thanks, -- -Peter Tribble OGB Vice-Chair From jbeck at eng.sun.com Mon Aug 17 14:50:35 2009 From: jbeck at eng.sun.com (John Beck) Date: Mon, 17 Aug 2009 14:50:35 -0700 Subject: [approach-discuss] Status of the Approachability Community In-Reply-To: Your message of "Mon, 17 Aug 2009 22:38:28 BST." (I.e., the relevant work is being carried on in other more "technologically native" communities.) Is there any content on the website that needs to be preserved? I can see some old nwam docs, but that's about all. -- -Peter Tribble http://www.petertribble.co.uk/ - http://ptribble.blogspot.com/ From jbeck at eng.sun.com Tue Aug 18 10:19:38 2009 From: jbeck at eng.sun.com (John Beck) Date: Tue, 18 Aug 2009 10:19:38 -0700 Subject: [approach-discuss] Status of the Approachability Community In-Reply-To: Your message of "Tue, 18 Aug 2009 12:28:58 BST." The old content is below, but see ... for the latest content." note displayed conspicuously at the top. So, fire away; thanks. -- John http://blogs.sun.com/jbeck
