A first and immediate step for this case would be to have someone who 
moderates the aliases in question let the mail through, for right now, 
or none of us will see this in general, while waiting for a larger 
solution.

For mail being bridged out from the machinery driving the ARC stuff, 
that makes sense, however, see below.

I'd like to hear more of the rational behind this.  I can't see 
anything immediately wrong with expecting people involved in such 
discussions to have opensolaris.org accounts.  Though requiring 
subscription to the various specific aliases is not good, I agree.

There's already the "Let any opensolaris.org member post to any list 
without moderation" request(s).  Why would these, if implemented, not 
meet your needs?
