I don't know how it works today, but mail destined for
"john.plocher at sun.com"
goes thru a spam filter before it reaches my inbox.
It shouldn't be difficult to extend that mechanism to include
"*@opensolaris.org".
(i.e., it is some combination of MX records + Sun IT politics)

OK, that still isn't a reason to not fix the problem...

As I said in another thread, this still isn't enough.
Mail from you and I will get thru in that case because we have personal
subscriptions to some other OS.o alias.
Infrastructure generated mail from "sacadm at sac" won't get thru (though
this could be special cased easily with sacadmin subscribing to a dummy
alias...)
Worse, though, is that mail from people who need to be part of the
conversation, but are not themselves members of any OS.o alias will be
stuck. This population includes all the Sun engineers who are not OS.o
subscribers as well as people from other FOSS efforts who are themselves
not OS.o members. An example[*] could be bringing David Korn into the
ksh93 conversation without first requiring that he subscribe to the
ksh93-interest at os.o alias. It is this balkanization of the engineering
community that bothers me most.

[*] The example presumes that David hadn't already been a member of the
ksh93-interest alias, but you get the idea.
