Okay, I hear you. ARC policy deliberations do not take place on arc- 
discuss. Gotcha. That is a separate discussion anyhow compared to the  
original request which started this thread.

So, whoever happens to be pulling the levers behind the ARC curtain,  
please open up PSARC/2007/124. People who maintain 3rd party  
filesystems and use the "non-public" VFS layer to do so would greatly  
appreciate it.
