I think you're implying that there's a double-standard here, but I
don't believe that to be the case. Even suggesting something odious
like that seems like a mistake to me, given the tortuous (and
torturous) history here.

If someone wants to integrate star or any other package, that'd be
fine by me. It certainly does not have to be Joerg. By the same
token you shouldn't expect _me_ or any other OpenSolaris participant
to jump in and volunteer unless one of us happens to care about it for
our own (probably selfish ;-}) reasons. I know I don't care enough to
do that, but perhaps someone else does.

However, if Joerg is the one _complaining_ about the lack of
integration, and desires to see it happen, then that's where we need
to hold up a mirror and say, "this guy is the one who seems to care
enough to do something about it."

In short, we ask him, because he seems to want to do it.

The same applies for any other package or software that might run on
OpenSolaris, and similar complaints about why something isn't
integrated. If nobody wants to do the work, well, then, you have your
answer. It's a self-solving problem.

As for the rest of your posting, it seems to have several needlessly
incendiary comments about the work that other contributors are doing,
including those on the ARC. I don't see why that's particularly
helpful or what you intend on accomplishing by undermining those
contributors.
