I just sent this note below to all the individual user group lists. There are about 400 people on advocacy-discuss, but there are about 4,500 people subscribed to all the individual UG lists, and many of them are not on opensolaris-announce or on the main community lists. So, hopefully, I reached some new people here to let them know about the contest/grant program. Thanks for doing this. I am going to send directly to John Jiang and Naveen Asrani as well. Hopefully they can pump up the volume for India and China... One is a contest and most anyone can enter. Even teams. The other is a grant program. You must be a student with a faculty advisor to apply for a grant. There is a lot more information on both programs on our project page here: http://opensolaris.org/os/project/awards/ Hope this helps, T Piotr Jasiukajtis wrote: > Hello, > > Should I be a student to collaborate? > From smzlkimi at gmail.com Tue Apr 22 18:09:36 2008 From: smzlkimi at gmail.com (sm_zl_kimi) Date: Wed, 23 Apr 2008 09:09:36 +0800 Subject: [awards-program] dose sun offer any idea about the proposal? There are many others." http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/awards/awards_research_land/grant_FAQ/ What we really want to do is get more students and instructors using Solaris and OpenSolaris. To study the system, surely you would have to use it. Then perhaps that would lead to greater participation and perhaps even contributions. Contributions are not only code but can also include documentation, curriculum, and other kinds of contributions. Perhaps you can get research ideas from reading some of the community and project sites: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/communities/ http://www.opensolaris.org/os/projects/ Perhaps others on this alias will respond with suggestions. Thanks for your interest! sm_zl_kimi wrote: > is there any idea list? > _______________________________________________ > awards-program mailing list > awards-program at opensolaris.org > http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/awards-program From Alta.Elstad at Sun.COM Tue Apr 22 18:43:59 2008 From: Alta.Elstad at Sun.COM (Alta Elstad) Date: Tue, 22 Apr 2008 18:43:59 -0700 Subject: [awards-program] OpenSolaris Community Innovation Awards Program Message-ID: <480E945F.4080607@Sun.COM> So far, we have 15 people registered for either the contest or the student research grants.
