Subject: [belenix-dev] New software to manage SVR4 packages

Hi All,

   I have been working a package repository and easy local package
management solution over SVR4 packaging for the last few days. I
have the core framework, basic install and dependency resolution
ready. The implementation is in Python.

Code review and comments welcome. If you want to play with the

Running spkg prints out a complete usage text. Note that this initial
work in progress and only  'spkg install' and 'spkg updatecatalog' are
implemented.

   Looks like they are preparing the ground for widespread adoption of
   Chrome when it is available for Linux/Unix.

The thing I dont understand is why they're gung-ho about the trademark
now. They didnt worry much about it the past two years.. and thing
seem to be moving fine.

I would understand if Ubuntu goes the Iceweasel way, but the user
experience would definitely suffer. A linux desktop works very well
for someone who spends a lot of time in the browser, and firefox has
the "Oh, I've used that on windows.. its the same" feel.

there are other problems here.. like websites with user-agent checker,
several sites wont work with iceweasel.
