Thanks Nils well I guess just adding a hosts list will do for now. Is there any other way to do name resolution? 
What about NIS is this working? how do I set this up on my lx zone?
I see the entry in the /etc/sysconfig/network file but is this really all? do I not need to start ypclient of some sort and configure it to use a certain NIS server etc? add a defaultdomain file etc.
