That is exactly what happens with two different workstations.  For example:

Right now I type this message on my x86 laptop, with Firefox.  I ssh
in to my SPARC machine in the other room and set up X to display on my
laptop.  On the SPARC, I run /opt/firefox/firefox and, as expected, I
get a new Firefox window.  In that new window, from my SPARC,
Help->About Mozilla Firefox contains this:

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS i86pc; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061024 Firefox/2.0

Note the i86pc rather than sun4u.
