Ed did the work on this one.  Two pseudo devices (/dev/dsp
and /dev/mixer) are created.  The lx brand translation layer
maps the ioctls to these devices to their Solaris OSS
conterparts - when the audio zone attribute is set to true.

No.  Applications that understand OSS should work without modification.
Since you don't have a Linux kernel underneath, the drivers wouldn't
work (although sometimes you do have to install them to satisfy
dependencies for things in user space that you do care about).
